SCHUYLKILL HAVEN -- A community gathered in Schuylkill County to remember the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War.
There was a fourth of July celebration Sunday morning and a mass at Saint Ambrose Roman Catholic Church in Schuylkill Haven.
Veterans of the Vietnam War Post 29 held the event as just one way to honor and thank those who serve.
"Most importantly, we push welcome home and sending young men and women off," said Guy Wiederhold of Pottsville. "That's why when they come home they have people there to shake their hands and say thank you."
There was also a veterans day event featuring patriotic music at the church in Schuylkill County.
