More details released after Shenandoah Heights fire

A Shenandoah patrolman saved the life of an 18-month-old during a fire on Indiana Avenue Friday, according to state police.

SHENANDOAH, Pa. — More details have been released after a fire in Schuylkill County.

Crews were called to the blaze along Indiana Avenue in Shenandoah Heights just before noon on Friday.

According to state police, a Shenandoah Heights Patrolman, Mark Hysock, responded to the scene, ran into the home, and rescued an 18-month-old.

Officials say the baby was then flown to a hospital and is still being treated for injuries.

Fire officials say the fire started in a third-floor bedroom, but the cause remains under investigation.
