MAHANOY CITY -- Preparations are underway in Schuylkill County for what's promised to be a very big birthday celebration.
The city is celebrating it's 150th anniversary.
Organizers say there will be several vendors and big parade through town on Saturday.
"We have over 310 units registered for the parade, fire company,floats like you can see to the left of me here,it's all about the heritage of Mahanoy City," said Citizens Fire Company President Harry Wagner. "It really brought the town together, people are cleaning and putting decorations up."
Route 54 in Mahanoy City will be closed from 1:00p.m. until 6:00p.m. on Saturday during the anniversary celebration.
