Group in Pottsville hands out over 1,000 Thanksgiving dinners

The Knights of Columbus and other volunteers worked through the night to prepare the meals.

POTTSVILLE, Pa. — A group in Pottsville is making sure everyone in Schuylkill County gets a slice of turkey and more this Thanksgiving.

The Knights of Columbus and other volunteers worked through the night to prepare nearly 1,900 free meals to hand out to their neighbors in need.

Stuffing take out containers with turkey, corn, sweet potatoes, and more.

After packaging up the turkey dinners, volunteers delivered the meals to townships throughout Schuylkill County.

"And this is all great for the community. And anybody can volunteer, we're happy to see anyone come down whether it's 20 minutes or a couple hours," said Greg Wagner with the Knights of Columbus.

The meals were hand made inside of the St. Patrick's Parish Center in Pottsville.
