COLUMBIA COUNTY, Pa. — A former Schuylkill County cop has been indicted for child sex crimes.
A federal grand jury charged Christopher Cordes, age 29, of Nazareth, for attempting to entice a minor to engage in sexual activities and having possession of child pornography and animal crushing.
Cordes was employed as a Tamaqua police officer. He was in communication with a minor through social media to allegedly solicit child pornography. Cordes is also alleged to have created and sent images engaged in sexual activity with animals.
During Cordes's arrest, child pornography was found in his possession.
Cordes is currently held at the Lackawanna County Prison. He faces a maximum penalty of life in prison.
