SHENANDOAH -- It's been a year since an elderly woman was found dead, but now her son and his girlfriend are being charged with her murder.
Police believe 77-year-old Elaine Latshaw may have been neglected for months.
By the time they found Latshaw in the South Street home in Mahanoy City last August, her foot was so gangrenous, the bone was sticking out.
Her son's girlfriend, Dorothy Robinson was led into court in Shenandoah just before noon, Friday.
Robinson and her boyfriend John Latshaw Jr. are being charged with murder along with neglect of care, involuntary manslaughter, and reckless endangerment.
According to police, Robinson was supposed to care for her boyfriend's mother, but instead abandoned the woman in a room to die.
