TAMAQUA, Pa. — Children in Schuylkill County now have a direct line to Santa's workshop in the North Pole. The Hometown Volunteer Fire Department recently installed a mailbox station along Mahanoy Avenue that sends mail directly to Santa Claus.
Volunteers say more than 50 children have already dropped off their Christmas wish lists.
"Just the kid's excitement on their faces, their smiles, telling Santa what they want." Said Teresa Buccieri.
The mailbox will stay open in Tamaqua for the next week or so. Children who drop off their self-addressed and stamped letters should expect a reply from the big man in red before Christmas.
