SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. — Work is underway to fill a mine subsidence in Schuylkill County.
The massive subsidence opened up in a Mahanoy Township family's backyard, swallowing their swimming pool.
According to the Department of Environmental Protection, the hole is about 100 feet wide and at least 50 feet deep.
The DEP's Bureau of Abandoned Mine Reclamation began filling the hole with a concrete mixture on Tuesday.
There is no word yet on how long it will take to fill the hole in Schuylkill County.
