Crash involving state police vehicle sends trooper to the hospital in Schuylkill County

Police say the trooper was taken to the hospital to get checked out, but he should be okay.

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. — A crash in Schuylkill County sent a state trooper to the hospital.

Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven say one of their troopers was on his way to a robbery when he was involved in a crash.

It happened around 9:50 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of Route 61 and West Market Street (Route 443) in North Manheim Township, near Orwigsburg.

A picture from the scene shows damage to the driver's side of the PSP patrol car.

Police say the trooper was taken to the hospital to get checked out, but he should be okay.

No one in the other vehicle was hurt.

The crash remains under investigation in Schuylkill County.
