TAMAQUA -- The case against a Schuylkill County man accused of swindling cash from an elderly couple is likely headed to trial.
Alfonso Picone of Tamaqua is accused of taking more than $300,000 from a couple in their 90s, telling them his friend would invest the money.
Investigators say Picone pocketed the cash instead.
Some of the original charges against Picone were dropped, but he still faces theft charges.
