Businesses brace for flooding in Pottsville

Businesses in Pottsville are preparing for flooding, and they've been through it before.

POTTSVILLE, Pa. — Joseph Drasdis owns Drasdis & Son, a men's clothing store on West Market Street.

Drasdis credits the city for clearing snow from the roads and gutters in preparation for the storm. He says the arch in downtown Pottsville typically backs up during storms, and the basement of his business has flooded in the past.

"So far, we've been all right, knock on wood, because the rain has been spread out throughout the day, it hasn't been too bad. But we will be up probably all night watching our cameras to make sure that we don't flood in the basement," said Joseph Drasdis, owner of Drasdis & Son.

Drasdis says he has a homemade dam and is considering putting it up Tuesday night, depending on how rain conditions develop in Pottsville.
