SHENANDOAH, Pa. — Police made an arson arrest overnight in Schuylkill County shortly after a destructive fire.
Police say John Mayeresky set fire to mattresses leaning against a porch on North West Street in Shenandoah around 10 p.m. Thursday.
The home was badly damaged.
Police say Mayeresky was caught on video, and they arrested him a short time later.
Charges include arson, risking a catastrophe, recklessly endangering another person, disorderly conduct, and criminal mischief. Mayeresky was unable to post the $75,000 straight cash bail and was locked up in the Schuylkill County prison.
