Schuylkill County native helps kick off Pennsylvania Farm Show

The Pennsylvania Farm Show returned to Harrisburg Saturday along with a Schuylkill County native.

HARRISBURG, Pa. — The time has come to enjoy all the food and agriculture Pennsylvania has to offer!

Saturday was the official start of the 108th Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg.

A singer from our area, 13-year-old Thea Sten of Schuylkill County, helped kick off the largest indoor agricultural expo in the nation by singing the national anthem during the opening ceremonies Saturday morning.

"It was scary, but it's what I do, and if I want to keep doing it, I'm going to have to get used to it, and it's fun I love singing, and I think it's a great opportunity," said Thea Sten.

Thea tells Newswatch 16 she was one of the 20 finalists who entered a competition to sing at the farm show and then won a voting contest to perform at the show this year.
