SCRANTON, Pa. — President Joe Biden will pay last minute visit to Scranton on Saturday days days before voters select either his vice president, Kamala Harris, or Republican Donald Trump as the nation's 47th chief executive.
The White House on Tuesday confirmed Biden's visit to his childhood hometown this weekend. They did not say where in Scranton he will go, only that his visit is for "political engagements."
Biden last visited Scranton in September to attend the funeral of Thomas Bell Sr., a lifelong city resident and a childhood friend of the president.
That visit had been his first to the region since he decided in July to withdraw from the presidential race, which led to Harris's nomination on the Democratic ticket as his successor.
