Man locked up after allegedly assaulting trooper in Pike County

Scott Swisher is locked up on a slew of charges, including aggravated assault and resisting arrest.

PIKE COUNTY, Pa. — A man is locked up after allegedly assaulting a Pennsylvania State Police Trooper in Pike County.

Officials say a Blooming Grove Patrol Trooper stopped Scott Swisher, 46, of Tafton, Saturday morning along Route 507 in Greene Township and discovered he had a warrant out for his arrest on charges of endangering the welfare of a child, strangulation, and terroristic threats.

When the trooper tried to take Swisher into custody, he fled and eventually used a pen to stab the trooper in the head multiple times, according to investigators.

The trooper suffered minor injuries.

Swisher remains locked up in Pike County, facing additional charges of aggravated assault, resisting arrest, possession of an instrument of crime, evading arrest on foot, simple assault, and escape.
