MILFORD, Pa. — Crews have recovered the body of a missing swimmer in Pike County.
The National Park Service, along with local EMS and rescue crews, responded to Milford Beach in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area around 3:15 p.m. Saturday for reports of a missing swimmer.
Officials say witnesses on shore saw a man, later identified as Jeysson Ariel Osorio-Reyes, 24, from Jackson Township, New Jersey, swimming about 75 yards from the shoreline when he went underwater and did not resurface.
Five boats and eight divers searched the water for hours before recovering Osorio-Reyes' body around 7 p.m.
