LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. — This year's Team Allied Services and You campaign is coming to an end.

Since August, we've highlighted how your involvement has made a difference for patients at Allied Services.

Now, we'll learn just how much this campaign has raised, and there's a lot of excitement as we approach the finale.

Newswatch 16's Chelsea Strub is in Luzerne County with members of the Team Allied Services crew.

More than 52,000 participants from 148 countries took to the streets of New York City and ran through all five boroughs, starting in Staten Island and then going through Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, and the Bronx.

More than two million spectators lined the streets to cheer the runners.

Team Allied Services and You is made up of 62 runners who dedicated time, energy, and their bodies to fundraising efforts for folks here helped by Allied Services in northeastern and central Pennsylvania.

Every year, runners volunteer to independently train and raise funds as they pledge to complete the TCS New York City Marathonone of the largest charity efforts in the country, where thousands come together to support the causes nearest to their hearts.

With the support of WNEP, major sponsors, volunteer runners, and you, Team Allied Services will continue to raise funds and awareness for patients at Allied Services.

You're invited to join us in supporting more milestones in rehab for stroke survivors, more firsts for children with developmental disabilities, more precious memories for hospice patients, and more lives restored for mental health sufferers.
