SWIFTWATER, Pa. — Stormtracker Meteorologist Jeremy Lewan spent his Friday morning at Swiftwater Intermediate School in Monroe County near Mount Pocono.
He visited during 2 separate 5th grade science classes, taught by Mr. Dustin Thomas, who has incorporated weather forecasting into their curriculum.
The students have been honing their meteorological expertise over the past few months, practicing weather map analysis as well as their reporting skills. They were excited to meet a real-life meteorologist and showcase all they've learned.
Jeremy is a NASA-Partner Eclipse Ambassador and taught the students about how cloudy weather may disrupt visibility here in Central and Northeastern Pennsylvania of the upcoming April 8th eclipse, and he distributed ISO-certified eclipse glasses to everyone.
