PENNSYLVANIA, USA — Day 3 of Go Joe 26 started in Hazleton for Newswatch 16 This Morning. Joe then cruised through Beaver Meadows, Tresckow, McAdoo, Quakake, Delano, and Barnesville.
As Joe traveled through parts of Luzerne, Schuylkill, and Carbon Counties on Day 3, we found plenty of folks beating the heat with an iced coffee from Dunkin'.
This is the 14th year for Dunkin's St. Joseph's Center Iced Coffee Day fundraiser.
"They buy an iced coffee, and every iced coffee that is sold today, we will receive one dollar for St. Joe's," Jo Ann Verduce explained.
Joe's first stop of the day was in Beaver Meadows. A good crowd showed up to welcome their favorite morning meteorologist.
"It is very exciting for the community, and we are so happy that he takes the time to stop in a little community like this in Carbon County," Mike Baran said.
The king of rock and roll himself came out of hiding to welcome Joe to McAdoo.
"Joe Snedeker is the reason why we are here. We are not looking for no promo. We are just looking to support Joe and everything he does. 26 years is a milestone," said Elvis.
We asked Joe to summarize the first three days of the bike ride.
"It is like being in a pinball machine—exciting, cataclysmic, eccentric, bizarre, action-packed, noises, sounds, bing, bing, boom, boom—all that," Joe said.
Newswatch 16 at Noon found Joe at the Hometown Farmers Market.
Joe will roll on through Tamaqua, Coaldale, Lansford, Nesquehoning, Jim Thorpe, and Weissport before finishing his day in Lehighton for our evening newscasts.
The intrepid bicycling meteorologist is raising money for St. Joseph's Center, a place that cares for people with disabilities and provides medical daycare and adoptions.
