NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. — A teachers' union strike planned for Friday has been postponed in Northumberland County.
The teachers' union of Shikellamy announced a tentative strike that would have begun on Friday unless positive developments occurred during contract negotiations on Thursday.
According to the Shikellamy Education Association, contract negotiations will continue on Friday, and the strike date has been postponed until Tuesday.
There is no word of a settlement. Friday's class schedule will continue as normal in the Shikellamy School District.
