Northumberland non-profit in need of summer clothing donations

A non-profit in Northumberland County is looking for summer clothing donations to help out a faith-based thrift store.

WATSONTOWN, Pa. — Kingdom Kids Incorporated in Watsontown is a non-profit puppet ministry. The organization recently partnered with Community Aid Neighbors Helping Neighbors out of Selinsgrove, a faith-based thrift store. Kingdom Kids is working to help the store replenish its summer clothes, which are running low due to the hot weather we've been having.

"We are a collection area, so we get—it's a fundraiser for us, and we get 13 cents a pound for all the clothing we take down, so they're asking for clothing, they're asking for shoes, anything all sizes for children to adults, said Donna Bridge Kingdom Kids Incorporated founder.

Staff at Kingdom Kids collect items to take to the Community Aid distribution center in Selinsgrove. Workers at Community Aid then weigh all the items, and every quarter, Kingdom Kids receives a check for the donations.

"They keep the clothing and all their items at low costs so people can go in—every day they have a special that they're running, so we're helping them supply their store, they're helping people, and also helping us at the same time," said Bridge.

Donna Bridge is the founder of Kingdom Kids. She says the organization is hoping to create a bin for people to drop their clothing donations in.

"Coming towards the end of the summer when people are cleaning out their closets, doing yard sales, and they just bring their items here, and it's easy because then we recycle it for them, and we also get our money to help our non-profit to keep running."

You can drop off donations at Kingdom Kids Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. On weekends, donations can be dropped off behind the nonprofit's building in Watsontown.
