ELYSBURG, Pa. — Knoebels Amusement Resort consistently wins "Best Food" at the Golden Ticket Awards, which recognize the best of the best amusement parks.
In addition to all of the rides at Knoebels Amusement Resort, a lot of people visit to eat their way around the park near Elysburg.
This year, Knoebels introduced more than 40 new foods. Something for every taste bud.
"When we found out from our food service managers that there were so many brand new options this year, we knew that our guests would be let's just say hungry to check them all out," said Stacy Yutko, Knoebels Amusement Resort Spokesperson.
According to Knoebels, there have never been this many new food items in the park's 98 years in operation.
To help people find their new favorites, Knoebels recently introduced a separate menu, just for the new items. Some of the most popular new additions? The giant pretzel and the liege waffles.
"It is a super sweet waffle with your choice of toppings. We also have at our patio grill, a delicious buffalo chicken fry. There is a homemade buffalo chicken dip, bleu cheese crumbles."
It's the 50th anniversary for the Old Mill Ice Cream Stand. There are not only special sundaes to celebrate, there is a new signature flavor, "Roaring Creek Ripple". There was a contest for Knoebels employees to submit flavor ideas.
"Partnering with local ice cream company Leiby's, they actually were able to make up the top three choices for our full-time team to sample the new flavor options. Our team then voted on the most popular and that has been what was added to our menu this year."
Some other menu highlights include empanadas, a pulled chicken sandwich, strawberry cream cheese rolls, and a loaded baked potato salad.
