MOUNT CARMEL, Pa. — A former Mount Carmel police officer is facing a possible prison sentence.

Kyle Schauer is one of three officers indicted by a federal grand jury last year on multiple charges of violating the rights of people they arrested.

Court records indicate Schauer has agreed to plead guilty to one count of conspiracy to deprive rights under the color of law.

He faces a maximum of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 followed by a maximum of three years supervised release.

Former officers David Donkochik and Jonathan McHugh await trial on similar charges of violating the rights of people they arrested in Mount Carmel.
