SHAMOKIN, Pa. — A man from Northumberland County is charged with assaulting his baby boy.
Police say Marcus Akers, 23, of Shamokin, fed the 2-month-old baby food he wasn't meant to eat, including Slim-Jims, which caused damage to the child's digestive system.
When the child was 6 months old, officials found the baby had a clavicle fracture, head trauma, and other injuries.
Akers faces assault, child endangerment, and reckless endangerment charges in Northumberland County.
