PENNSYLVANIA, USA — Aqua Pennsylvania has issued a water conservation notice for communities in northeastern and central Pennsylvania due to recent dry weather conditions.
This includes townships and boroughs in Northumberland, Columbia, and Schuylkill counties:
- Northumberland County: Ralpho Township, Zerbe Township, Coal Township, and Mt. Carmel Township
- Columbia County: Conyngham Township and Centralia Borough
- Schuylkill County: Butler Township, Gordon Borough, and Girardville Borough
The water provider says the conservation notice is in place in an effort to avoid potential service impacts.
Aqua Pennsylvania has issued the following tips to help conserve water:
- Do not leave the water running when brushing your teeth or shaving.
- Take showers, not baths: Showers are more efficient and use less water. A 10-minute shower uses half the amount of water as a full bathtub.
- Cut back on rinsing dishes and only run the dishwasher when it is full.

Aqua says their drought team will continue monitoring the situation and alert residents when the mandatory conservation notice can be lifted.
