Lemonade stand for family after deadly fire in Northumberland County

A lemonade stand in Danville is benefiting a family after a fatal fire in Point Township on Monday.

MONTOUR COUNTY, Pa. — A lemonade stand in Montour County is benefiting a family after a fatal fire in Northumberland County.

12-year-old Aaron Childress and his brothers held a lemonade stand on Friday to benefit the Filbert family, who lost family members after Monday's fire in Point Township.

"They lost a bunch of family members in a fire," said Childress.

Aaron's mom and grandfather are both members of the Danville Fire Department, which responded to Monday's fire. The lemonade was free, but the kids collected donations, and everything went to the Filbert family.

"That is just part of the brotherhood and sisterhood. We all pull together. It doesn't matter if it's your own fire company or if it's a fire company hundreds of miles away. When a tragedy strikes, that is what we do," added Deanna Force with the Danville Fire Department.

A GoFundMe has been set up for the family. To learn more, click here.
