DANVILLE, Pa. — A Hindu temple is coming to this community in Montour County.
Dozens of people came to the foundation laying ceremony on Sunday.
"Shanti Mandir," meaning "Temple of Peace," will be built on Jerseytown Road outside Danville.
Construction is expected to start in the spring.
Organizers say the Indian American community is growing here, and the closest Hindu temple is more than an hour away.
It will be a temple and community center, and it will be open to everyone, not just the Hindu community.
