DANVILLE -- Everywhere you look in the back room at the Thomas Beaver Free Library in Danville there are books. In fact, volunteers say there are more than 10,000 of them.
"We had run out of space to put them out. We still have a few boxes that need to be unpacked yet," Randi Spayd said.
Every year the Thomas Beaver Free Library in Danville holds a used book sale. Books range from 25 cents to $3.
"You can leave with a whole bag of books for probably less than $5," Spayd said.
"I come here every year. It's good. You get a bunch of books for really cheap," Michelle Snyder said.
Some shoppers say they knew what they were looking for.
"Cookbooks, non-fiction, fiction, a little bit of everything," Snyder said.
And some shoppers did not know what they wanted.
"Absolutely anything, like maybe that one right there. And this one here. This is a $50 book. This costs $1 here," Don Norris said.
The book sale benefits the library and allows it to buy things that would not normally be covered in its general budget.
"Pool and pizza party for the children that are involved with the summer program. Our refrigerator died this year," Spayd said.
Organizers say most of the books are donated by people throughout the year and some are old library books. The used book sale runs through Saturday in Danville.
