DANVILLE, Pa. — Update:
A person of interest in the shooting that took place at Geisinger Medical Center near Danville Friday night has died.
Officials in Montour County say 49-year-old Vikki Wetzel from Berwick was shot and killed in a parking lot near the hospital. Wetzel worked for Geisinger and was shot while returning to her car around 5 p.m.
Officials say the shooter then fled the scene, and the hospital was on lockdown for several hours.
Officials in Montour County say there is no danger to the public and that details about a person of interest in the shooting would be released by the Columbia County Coroner's office.
On Saturday, the Columbia County Coroner's office said 48-year-old David Morgan from Mount Carmel died in a crash on State Route 42 in Conyngham Township shortly after 6 p.m. Friday night.
According to the coroner, Morgan was thrown from the car and sustained burns on his body.
Officials say Morgan's crash and the Geisinger shooting are connected, but at this time, will not confirm how. Both incidents are still under investigation.

The Montour County Coroner has confirmed that 49-year-old Vikki Wetzel, of Berwick, was shot and killed Friday night.
Wetzel was an employee of Geisinger Medical Center near Danville. The shooting happened just before 6 p.m. in the employee parking lot of the hospital. No one else was hurt.
There is no word yet on what led to the shooting, but state police say they believe it was an isolated incident.
Geisinger released the following statement Friday night saying, "Earlier this evening, a shooting incident took place on the Geisinger Medical Center campus that tragically took the life of one of our Geisinger Family members. We mourn their loss, especially under such violent and tragic circumstances. We’re working closely with law enforcement in the investigation. We immediately activated our emergency response plan to protect the safety of our patients, staff, and visitors. The facility was under lockdown, and access to the hospital is now back to normal."
