MONROE COUNTY, Pa. — Saturday was the last day of the Pennsylvania Truck Driving Championships at the Kalahari Resort and Convention Center in Tobyhanna Township.
More than 200 truck drivers took part in the championships, which included a written test, inspections, and navigating a driving course.
"We've been doing this for nearly 40 years, and I've been here for about 24 years. And there are drivers that have been here almost every year that I've been here. So that tells you year after year how many drivers have been qualifying, which means safer highways, less people getting injured and killed on our highways," said Mark Laurusevage, PA Motor Truck Association.
This was the 37th Annual Pennsylvania Truck Driving Championships in Monroe County.
