TOBYHANNA STATE PARK — UPDATE: State officials reopened Tobyhanna State Park beach to swimmers Friday.
The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources closed the beach to swimming because of high bacterial levels in the water Thursday. The DCNR posted signs on the beach warning visitors.
Other activities at the state park are still allowed, including picnicking, fishing, boating, and hiking.
The beach reopened after acceptable water test samples were taken.
