MONROE COUNTY, Pa. — It's a big week for food in the Poconos!
This is the Taste of the Poconos Restaurant Week.
"It brings out a lot of people that may not otherwise come out to the restaurant, so they say hey let's go check it out, it's a great value. I love three courses of food," Chef Lyman Winner of The Frogtown Chophouse said.
Restaurant Week runs from November 17th through the 22nd. More than 45 restaurants are participating in Monroe, Wayne, Pike and Carbon Counties.
"Delis, high end like the Frogtown Chophouse that we're in right now, wineries, breweries. It is time to literally taste your way around the Poconos," Eric Noone of The Frogtown Chophouse said.
Newswatch 16 stopped by the The Frogtown Chophouse near Cresco. As part of Restaurant Week, Chef Lyman Winner is preparing a three course meal for $42.
"Thick cut bacon from Corona Butcher, we have a nice French pork chop with a spicy apple chutney. Also on the menu is a Cajun red snapper with a tropical salsa and then some tastes of fall with a pumpkin cheesecake and chocolate mousse," Winner said.
New this year is a free Restaurant Week guide that includes an interactive map of participating restaurants. The guide serves as a digital pass for mobile devices, giving people a map and list of restaurants.
"The Pocono Mountain Visitors Bureau is extremely important to us. They are incredible supporters of the hospitality end of everything in the Poconos and they drive tourism here, and tourism in the restaurant industry is everything," Noone said.
The Taste of the Poconos Restaurant Week runs through Friday.
