STROUDSBURG, Pa. — It wasn't just the people who lined the streets of Stroudsburg in their Sunday best for the borough's 45th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade.
The furry friends flaunted their best Irish-themed attire as well.
"Jax, and this is Ripple. And they got all dressed up at the Milford trade last week. Everybody loved them. So we did it again this week for the Stroudsburg parade," said Don Dunlap, East Stroudsburg.
Especially the pups with Irish bloodlines.
"Yes, I made them costumes this year. These Irish Setters were part of the Allentown St. Patrick's Day parade last week, where we walked with a bunch of other centers. These guys are rescues. So the Irish center rescue in New Jersey," said Joanne Dinatale, McCungie.
But it's more than the pets that bring people from all over the Poconos to Stroudsburg for this parade that usually caps the season of Irish pride.
"It's awesome seeing everybody here lining up and all the food and everything. It's been really cool to see that," said Michelle Marren, Marshalls Creek.
"I love the bagpipes, so are you kidding They are like the main reason I come. I love them," said Michelle Purcell, Stroudsburg.
"Seeing all the people come out and together just to support the community," said Joanne.
For others, celebrating the Irish at the end of March in this part of Monroe County is about tradition, "For me, it's just my local town. Yeah, but I mean, look at the town. It's gorgeous. Everybody loves coming to Stroudsburg," said Don.
"I don't know, just this tradition to come every year. I love it," added Purcell.
This was the 45th year for the parade in Stroudsburg.
