EAST STROUDSBURG -- Investigators say a Stroudsburg school board member had a blood alcohol level almost four times the legal limit when he was pulled over last month.
Court papers show John Jakobsen, 46, of Sciota was stopped by state police April 18 at the intersection of Independence Road and Chestnut Street in East Stroudsburg after he went through a red light.
Officers said Jakobsen was unsteady and smelled strongly of alcohol.
Jakobsen is also a former Stroud Area Regional Police detective.
He is now charged with two misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence and citations for not stopping at a red light, not yielding, and careless driving.
