When mother nature heats things up, people start looking for something cool to do indoors.
Natalie Schultz-Kahwaty led a dance and movement class at the Barrett Township Recreation Complex.
"We think about our mind-body connection, we laugh a lot, and come together and care about each other," explained Schultz-Kahwaty.
A handful of seniors came out to get their daily dose of exercise.
This is just one of many programs put on by the Friendly Community Center.
"I'm glad this building is here, and the community is using it for all kinds of things," said Violet Connor of Canadensis.
"I worry a lot about the senior population being home and not having access to any kind of air conditioning, so I was hoping that we would see a lot of people today in the idea that they knew they were going to come to an air-conditioned facility," said Schultz-Kahwaty.
People who came out to the class say while they're not breaking a crazy sweat inside, they know the weather outside is nothing to mess with. So they're doing what they can to stay comfortable.
"Air conditioning, lots of water, staying hydrated that is the most important thing, especially when it's dry. I've had heat stroke before it's not fun," said Jamie Willis of Cresco.
"So you have to stay hydrated. And I just recently found out that the caffeine in coffee and tea prohibits your hydration, so now I'm trying to cut down on the caffeine," said Connor.
