School in Monroe County evacuated after bathroom fire

Firefighters were called out Friday after a fire started in a boys' room.

STROUDSBURG, Pa. — Fire in a bathroom cleared out a high school in the Poconos Friday morning.

The Stroudsburg Fire Department responded to Stroudsburg High School on West Main Street after reports of a fire in a boys' bathroom Friday morning.

High school students were taken to the stadium and dismissed at 1:15 p.m.

Firefighters said there is extensive smoke and water damage to the restrooms involved and water damage to a portion of the school.

No one was hurt.

The cause is under investigation.
