MONROE COUNTY, Pa. — Pleasant Valley Manor, a county-operated nursing home, is being privatized, Monroe County officials said on Thursday.
Outcome Healthcare will take over operations of the facility on Manor Drive in Hamilton Township sometime this year.
Pleasant Valley's board of trustees noted the complex fiscal and regulatory challenges facing PVM in the post-COVID-19 pandemic health care environment.
Officials said the decision was influenced by the increasing costs of goods, services, and staffing, as well as many new regulatory requirements not fully covered by state and federal reimbursement.
County officials have not said when the sale of the nursing home will be complete.
Pleasant Valley Manor Nursing Home has served the citizens of Monroe County for 100 years.
