MONROE COUNTY, Pa. — From running to throwing to jumping, more than 600 athletes tested their skills at a Special Olympics in Monroe County.
Pleasant Valley High School in Chestnuthill Township hosted the Team Northampton Special Olympics.
More than 400 volunteers came out to help and make sure the students had a good time.
"This day is their day. It's all about them. They absolutely love it! They feel like they are superstars today, and they are superstars. So this is their day to shine," said Julie Harris, Director of Special Education at Pleasant Valley School District.
Team Northampton Special Olympics is one of the largest Special Olympics programs in Pennsylvania.
