MONROE COUNTY, Pa. — It's out with the old and in with the new in Monroe County.
A new permanent golf bridge opened on the golf course at Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort near Marshalls Creek on Thursday.
The bridge connects golfers to 24 holes on the island course.
Workers say high water would sometimes wash out the old bridge, so the new one fixes that problem.
They also don't have to worry about setting it up every year now.
"It's a wonderful opportunity to have the beautiful island available year-round to be able to do a bunch of cool things. So we're doing over the river and through the woods island tours, and we have trolleys that have, you know, audio, and they are warm, and we take groups of people out there; the first one is a seasonal Santa's Workshop awesome tour," said Jonathan Kirkwood, Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort operator.
The old bridge officially comes down on Monday.
