TANNERSVILLE, Pa. — One person was hurt trying to avoid a wreck earlier this week in Monroe County, state police at Stroudsburg said.

Burnice Jackson, 44, suffered minor injuries when his Nissan Altima rolled over several times on the left embankment of Interstate 80 East near Tannersville.

Jackson, of Queens, New York, lost control around 4 p.m. Wednesday trying to avoid a disabled pick-up truck in the left lane.

He veered to the right, hit a traffic sign off the right embankment and then quickly cut back to the left. Jackson's speed and angle caused the Nissan to rollover several times, injuring him.

That crash happened at the same location where, not long before, a pick-up truck's trailer decoupled from the hitch but still held on by the security chains.

That caused driver Wendinmanegde Ouedraogo, 32, of Naperville, Illinois, to lose control.

As Ouedraogo spun, his trailer completely detached and overturned in the road. Ouedraogo was unharmed.
