CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA -- A local racing legend is being remembered.
Dr. Joseph Mattioli was inducted into the National Motorsports Press Association Stock Car Racing Hall of Fame Saturday night.
Dr.Mattioli owned and ran Pocono Raceway up until his death last year.
Doc, as he was known, brought Indy Racing to Pocono and was later instrumental in multiple Winston and Sprint Cup races at the highest circuit of NASCAR.
Going into the hall in North Carolina along with Doc where NASCAR executive Jim Hunter and broadcaster Ken Squier.
