Long-running breakfast tradition returns at a fire company in Monroe County

The Kunkletown Volunteer Fire Company served breakfast once a month for 30 years until it ended in 2022.

MONROE COUNTY, Pa. — A fire company is bringing back a long-running tradition in Monroe County.

The Kunkletown Volunteer Fire Company served breakfast once a month for 30 years until it ended in 2022.

Firefighters told Newswatch 16 the fundraiser was getting harder to do each month because of the increase in the prices of food and gear for the firehouse.

But next month, the fundraiser will make a comeback.

Starting on February 4th, the breakfast buffet will be served at the firehouse from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

The prices for adults are $12, and for children between the ages of 6 to 11 are $6. Children five years or under are free.

Their menu items include:

  • Scrambled Eggs
  • Chip Beef
  • French Toast
  • Home fries
  • Bacon
  • Sausage
  • Ham
  • Assorted Beverages
