Child charged with threatening school staff in Monroe County

MONROE COUNTY, Pa. — A 12-year-old faces charges after allegedly threatening to shoot up a school in Monroe County.

Investigators say the suspect planned on targeting staff at the Pleasant Valley Middle School near Brodheadsville.

He has since been taken into custody and faces risking a catastrophe, terroristic threats, and other charges.

State police say there will be officers at the middle school over the next few days.
