MONROE COUNTY, Pa. — Folks in the Poconos were celebrating Black History Month with a special luncheon on Saturday.
The Monroe County Branch of the NAACP hosted its 4th Annual Black History Month Prayer Luncheon at Mount Airy Resort.
The theme, 'The Art of Worship,' celebrates those who make an impact in their communities with creative leadership and their work in the arts.
The luncheon celebrated multiple honorees. Organizers say there is a lot to celebrate.
"We have amazing people in Monroe County who have contributed to black history, so there is a lot to be proud about, and we are happy to be together in celebration with food, friendship, and fellowship," said Christa Caceres, Monroe County NAACP President.
A portion of the proceeds benefit the annual Monroe County NAACP Scholarship Program.
