STROUD TOWNSHIP -- An ongoing neighbor dispute is what police say sparked an early morning fire.

One man is locked up in Monroe County, suspected of setting it.

Daniel Hernandez of Stroud Township is behind bars, suspected of dousing his neighbor's car in lighter fluid and setting it on fire around 3 a.m. Thursday.

A torched patch of grass and a burned hood is all that's left of John and Tina Heubach's 1999 Chevy minivan.

A storage garage near Stroudsburg is also charred.

Police arrested their neighbor, Daniel Hernandez for the suspected arson.

The Heubach's say Hernandez threatened to set fire to their van in the latest in what officers say is an ongoing neighbor dispute.

"He comes yelling to me, 'Wait until you see what is going to happen to your car tonight!' and goes back in. I thought nothing of it because he always talks when he's drunk," said Heubach.

John's wife Tina looked out her window and saw a ball of flames, and went running outside.

"I said, 'What are you doing? Get the hell away from my car!' and in his hand was a knife and lighter fluid," Tina Heubach recalled.

John was able to save this van from the flames but three tires were slashed too.

The couple had just put $2,000 worth of work into the minivan and now they're heartbroken.

"Now I got nothing. I'm out the money I put in to fix it."

The owners of this torched property showed up hours after the alleged arson happened and say they had no idea what they were going to find.

Pauline Maruhnich says she rented the garage to store extra stuff from her house just about three blocks away. Now she and her sister are surveying the damage.

"Just about everything you could think of I had in there, and of course, I'm trying not to get upset over it because there's nothing you could do about it," Maruhnich said.

Police say Hernandez is locked up for suspected arson and several other charges.

Neighbors hope it's the end to this long bitter dispute.

"I hope, I hope, that's what I told the cops yesterday. Please take him away, take him away for good."

Hernandez is locked up in Monroe County on $250,000 bail.
