LONG POND, Pa. — The RV's are lined up for Nascar weekend at Pocono Raceway near Long Pond.
Once everyone makes it to their site, it's time to kick back and relax.
"It's really a lot of fun just hanging out the cars are the second part of it, you know," said Richard Foy from New Jersey.
Timothy Zeck and his family have quite the view of the packed in-field from their site.
"This is the platform to watch the race, you know we've got the school bus, everyone helps with the maintenance on it, we put it up and break it down, it's just one big camping family," said Zeck.
For the third year in a row, all 3,800 campsites are sold out.
"It kicks it off; I'm always the most jealous of these campers if you get in the infield. You see all of the setups and the creativity, said Pocono Raceway president Ben May.
"To see in a ten-year span how much it has grown is just crazy," added Zeck.
Camping has become so popular here at Pocono Raceway over the years that 200 campsites have been added to the in-field, and those are already sold out.
Richard Foy and his friends from New Jersey were the first to set up camp in the new spaces. He says race weekend is a tradition that goes back 20 years.
"There's a ton of people here. Everybody is here for the same reason: it is all fun; you don't have to lock anything up; you can walk past someone, and if you need a food item or a condiment or something, someone always has it,"
There are three separate races on the tricky triangle this weekend. Plus, another draw for NASCAR fans this year.
"Of course, if you are a Martin Truex Jr. fan, Martin is a Jersey guy, and he is retiring this year, so this is Martin's last ride at Pocono," explained May.
Tickets for the great Pocono Getaway 400 on Sunday are almost sold out.
