Williamsport hosts workshops to gather feedback on city parks

The city hosted two workshops to gather feedback on ways to improve various parks.

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — The city of Williamsport wants to know what residents think about the city's parks.

It's all part of a plan to improve Williamsport's parks system in the upcoming Comprehensive Parks, Recreation, Open Space, and Green Infrastructure Plan.

City officials say some parks are under-utilized, so they hosted two workshops on Tuesday to hear what improvements residents would like to see.

"We're looking to grow them, we want to make sure that what we have in amenities is supporting what our community values, and what would bring them out in order to bring the community together," said M. Feif Gallagher, Committee Member.

One of the goals is to improve connectivity between the parks.

Officials plan to make upgrades over a 10-year period in Williamsport.
