Williamsport Crosscutters hosting State College Spikes for Fourth of July game

Newswatch 16's Mackenzie Aucker has the details on what to expect for the Crosscutter's Fourth of July game

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — Grounds crews are adding the final touches ahead of the Williamsport Crosscutters Fourth of July game at Journey Bank Ballpark at Historic Bowman Field in Williamsport. For the holiday, promotions include a reversible patriotic bucket hat for the first 1,000 fans, Dollar Hot Dog Day, and much more.

"All adults who come to the game are going to have an opportunity to win a deluxe gas grill and patio set with retail value over $6,000—somebody's going to win it, Thirsty Thursday beer specials, free tickets for active-duty military and veterans with their military ID at the box office," said Gabe Sinicropi Williamsport Crosscutters, vice president of marketing

Even though the game will be played on the Fourth of July, there will be no fireworks after the game since downtown Williamsport will have its own show at night.

"We want to do a lot of other things to make the day special, so it will be like coming out to a July Fourth picnic with a baseball game going on in the background. So, we invite everybody to come out and check it out," said Sinicropi.

The Crosscutters Fourth of July game is set for 1:05 p.m. against the State College Spikes. An early game time gives fans an opportunity to enjoy the rest of the holiday with their families or to head to downtown Williamsport to check out the Fourth of July festivities.

"Whether you have a family picnic or outing or going to a fireworks show in Williamsport or any other surrounding community, we hope you make baseball part of your July Fourth activities," said Sinicropi.
