WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — A grant from the TEGNA Foundation will help a nonprofit in Lycoming County assist those with visual impairments.
On Tuesday, North Central Sight Services in Williamsport received a $1,500 grant from the TEGNA Foundation.
North Central Sight Services provides blindness prevention education, vision screenings, services, and employment for those who are blind or visually impaired in Bradford, Centre, Clinton, Lycoming, Sullivan, and Tioga counties.
"We're so grateful for the grant. It allows us to assist more people who are blind or visually impaired to achieve and maintain their independence at home, school, or work," said Kim Zimmer, the president and CEO of North Central Sight Services.
The TEGNA Foundation supports nonprofit organizations in communities served by TEGNA Inc. The community grant program serves to address local community needs. TEGNA is the parent company of WNEP.
