WILLIAMSPORT -- A woman from Lycoming County is accused of embezzling thousands of dollars from her employer. And police believe at the same time she was sending money to her husband, a wanted man.

Police said Heather Diemer, 44, of Williamsport stole more than $45,000 from a salon she worked at in Williamsport for several years.

The owner of that salon said that now that charges have been filed, he hopes to put the whole thing behind him.

Diemer walked out of her arraignment at the Lycoming County courthouse with family.

"Must be a boring day for news in Williamsport," a family member said.

While Diemer's family appeared to make light of a situation, investigators did not.

Diemer was charged with embezzling over $45,000 dollars from Barone 3G Salon on Washington Boulevard in Williamsport. Police said it happened from 2012 until May of this year, while she worked there as a stylist and manager.

"It's an emotional day for me. This was not an easy thing to do, by no means," said Frank Barone, the owner of Barone 3G Salon.

Police said Diemer overstated credit cards and pocketed money from appointments she would later cancel.

Investigators said while this was going on, Diemer admitted to wiring money to her husband Edward Diemer. He has a criminal record and is currently wanted on bad check charges.

"You just think you know somebody and you really don't" said Barone.

Barone said he didn't know money was missing until his accountant stepped in.

"‘What's going on with your salon?’ and I said, 'What do you mean?' She said, ‘It's not turning any profit,’ and you know boom here we go," said Barone.

Barone said Diemer worked for him at the salon for several years. She has admitted to stealing thousands of dollars from the salon. He suspects her of stealing even more money, although there is no paperwork to prove it.

"You know you sit and think how long has it been going on, I was numb. I've been numb for a little bit. Each day I try to put it behind me and hopefully today begins the moving on process," Barone said.

Diemer was released on bail. Her preliminary hearing is set for next month.
